Summary

Full Description: A 20-reed Wheatstone Double Aeolina, c1825, and made at 20 Conduit Street for Singleton, Worcester, whose name is engraved upon the metal frame. It retains its original gilt-embossed, silk lined red leather case, and two of the reed tongues have been replaced. The instrument was briefly fashionable in the 1820s as shown here . Wheatstones’ made a range, of single, double, and Triple Aeolinas , as shown in this fine example in the National Music Museum, South Dakota, USA.
