Reeds and Reed PansReed Pans Summary: Shallow radial pans with the central hole offset towards the smaller chambers now in a shallow and symmetrical layout. Pan inset flush to bellows-frame, and with narrow dividers clad in clater=period pure white chamois. The pans are flush to the bellows-frame and reed-pans. Reed Pans Main Labels: No Main label. There are ink-stamped note names in each outer chamber. Reed Pans Stamps: L & R Reed Pans Serial Numbers: None Reed Pans Gasketry: Pure white chamois leather. Reed Pans Right Hand Cross Pieces: RH: 18 Wooden cross-pieces, each chamois-capped, on all chambers. Reed Pans Left Hand Cross Pieces: RH: 18 Wooden cross-pieces, each chamois-capped, on all chambers. Reeds Summary: 72 wedge profiled, long-scale round-ended aluminium reed frames, 18 on each side of each reed pan. Blued steel reed-tongues, with pairs of small steel tongue securing screws, and all reeds secured to pan faces by small brass screws at each end - no chamfered slots.. Reed Frame Material: Aluminium Frames. Reed Tongue Material: Blued steel reed-tongues. Reed Frame Shape: Tapered long-scale round-ended aluminium reed frames. Reed Tongue Profile: Parallel. Reed Securing Screws: Two brass securing screws. Stamps on Reed Frames: Note names stamped in ink within chambers, not on reed-frames. |
