End Frets

Summary: Single ply Rosewood ends with chamfered edges and floral pale brass corner inlays.

End Shape: Hexagonal

End Sides: Six

End Diameter: 157.5mm

End-Profile: Flat, chamfered edges

End Material: Single-ply pale and grained bevelled edge rosewood ends, with side panels of ends and action frame of rosewood veneer.

End Bolts: Medium cheese-head domed pale brass bolts, securing the fretwork end to the action frame and bellows.

Fret Pattern: Standard Louis Lachenal 1850s pattern

Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval embouchure for maker's label and slightly scalloped one for a serial number (number absent).

Strap Screw-insert type: Inset circular brass disc with one steel securing screw.

Finger-rest: Brass sheet, no evidence of cladding.

Fret Condition: Fine.

Damage Summary: Top case-strap leather, and both original thumb-straps absent.
