End FretsSummary: The post-1848 machine-cut rosewood fretwork is now the standard format. The frets are machine-cut, flat to the edges, with oval embouchures for the dealer's label and for slightly scalloped for a serial number (label absent). Fair condition. End Shape: Hexagonal End Sides: Six End Diameter: 157.5mm End-Profile: Flat. End Material: Single-ply matte flat Rosewood ends, with solid Rosewood veneered side panels around the fret edging and action board levels. End Bolts: Shallow domed brass end-bolts, securing the fretwork end to the action frame and bellows. Fret Pattern: Post-1848 machine-cut fretwork introduced by Louis Lachenal when he worked at Wheatstone's. Label Embouchure Pattern: Larger oval to RH, smaller scalloped shape to LH Strap Screw-insert type: No Strap-screw inserts fitted on this budget model. Finger-rest: Standard format curved-end brass finger-rests, No use of leather cladding. 3 securing screws. Fret Condition: Fair - fragment missing from RH. Damage Summary: Case missing, very worn leather straps and bellows joints. |
