End Frets

Summary: A fancy circular pattern of hexagonal two-ply amboyna wood frets of a more intricate pattern that on Jones' Anglo concertinas. There are fancy brass corner inlays to all twelve corners. The finger-rests are a fancy curved profile, and are fully-engraved on the outer sides. There are embouchures for dealer's label and for a serial number (neither present). The fretwork-frame and action frame are clad in amboyna veneer.

End Shape: Hexagonal.

End Sides: Six.

End Diameter: 170mm.

End-Profile: Flat, with slightly bevelled edges.

End Material: Two-ply Amboyna veneer.

End Bolts: Large-headed cheese-head brass bolts, now worn into the end-frames in parts, securing the fretwork end to the action frame and bellows.

Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval to RH, smaller oval to LH.

Strap Screw-insert type: Inset brass rectangular screw inserts, secured by two steel screws.

Finger-rest: The finger-rests are of a fancy curved profile, and are fully-engraved on the outer sides.

Fret Condition: Fair, with signs of thumb-wear and screw damage.

Damage Summary: Later Wheatstone case and Lachenal & Co thumb-straps, baffles absent.
