Summary

Full Description: An early Wheatstone Telegraph Indicator Housing, with silver plated plaque engraved “C Wheatstone Invt”, (Invt is a short form of the Latin ‘Invenit’). The fine mahogany housing has a rear door and two open panels to the sides. This item was recovered in the 1960s from the remnants of the Wheatstone Museum at King’s College, London. A contemporary engraving of a similar “Indicator” as used on the Great Western Railway is Item NC.1.2.1-023 in the Collection.
