Item Type: Press Cutting - Minting

Summary

Full Description: A large press cutting from the Sunday Times of Feb 12th 1961 claiming "Concertinas (good for Bach) are humming". The article mentions the order for 500 concertinas from Bolivia, and quotes Harry Minting ("sales manager at Wheatstone's Islington factory") as saying "In this building, accordion is a dirty word. It 'squeezed the concertina off the stage' - Today people still pay the concertina but treat it as a joke. Clowns for instance. And television cramps music in the home".
"You can play anything on a concertina. It's very good for Bach".
A photograph shows a craftsman tuning an Aeola in the workshops.
