devices. Many original concertina-makers' catalogues, instrument
price lists, and Dealers' brochures are within this section, plus
examples of all the dealer labels found on concertinas marketed
in the UK and Europe. Important archives of Harry Minting
(Wheatstones' Manager), Henry Stanley (major arranger and
writer of concertina music), Reuben Shaw (player and
populariser of the Duet) are included. In addition, there is a
large archive of images related to the concertina, from serious
photographs of its inventors, makers and performers, to a wealth
of images, both factual and comic, that use the image and form of
the concertina as an icon for comedy, design, and to indicate the
class and style of persons using or posing with an instrument.
The music, tune-books and tutors for the instrument are
represented, plus a large Video and recorded music and interviews
archive from the earliest days of recording.
