End Frets

Summary: Very early pattern of hexagonal flat single layered rosewood, with an area replaced by laser-cut inst fretwork made by Bill Crossland. Deep sided, with the sides lapping over the raised action "nest Frame". The ends have mounting slats around their underside, which assits the ends to nest into the action frame.

End Shape: Hexagonal

End Sides: Six

End Diameter: 144mm

End-Profile: Flat

End Material: Single-ply, very bleached rosewood, rosewood-veneered sides.

End Bolts: Very flat cheese-head brass bolts.

End Stamps / Labels: Oval silver plaque, "His Maj" engraving, screwed to the end with two small blued steel screws

Label Embouchure Pattern: None

Finger-rest: Short strip type

Fret Condition: 50mm x 20mm area of damage replaced by laser-cut rosewood insert.

Damage Summary: Fair: straps absent, fret repairs.
