End Frets

Summary: Later style, less intricate pattern of hexagonal flat two-layered rosewood fretwork, with embouchures for maker's label and serial number. Shallow-sided, vertically grained, with the sides fitting flush to the bellows-frame. The ends have mounting slats glued around the inner edges of their underside, which assists the ends to nest into the action frame, and controls warping to some extent.

End Shape: Hexagonal

End Sides: Six

End Diameter: 146mm

End-Profile: Flat

End Material: Two-ply Rosewood, with fine and near perfect fretting, of a somewhat less intricate pattern to earlier models.

End Bolts: Very flat cheese-head brass bolts.

End Stamps / Labels: Oval paper label, with "His Maj" wording, glued to sub-fret pine board.

Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval to RH, shield-shaped to LH (for serial No).

Strap Screw-insert type: Inset rectangular brass screw-fittings to side, each secured by two steel screws.

Finger-rest: Original short and straight L-shaped brass strip, clad in original dark green leather, 2 securing screws.

Fret Condition: Very fine

Damage Summary: Very fine condition.
