End Frets

Summary: Later style, less intricate (but still hand-cut) pattern of hexagonal flat two-ply, Amboyna-on-hardwood fretwork, with embouchures for maker's label and for a serial number (both present). The divided end arrangements of Fretwork-frame and action frame are of Amboyna veneer

End Shape: Hexagonal

End Sides: Six

End Diameter: 156mm

End-Profile: Flat

End Material: Amboyna Veneer on hardwood backing

End Bolts: Shallow-height cheese-head brass bolts, securing the fretwork end to the action frame and bellows.

Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval to RH, shield-shaped to LH

Strap Screw-insert type: Inset circular brass screw-fittings to side, each secured by a single steel screw

Finger-rest: Standard format curved-end brass finger-rests, dark green leather cladding, (complete on both rests). Three securing screws. The fret pattern beneath both the finger-rests and the thumb-strap mountings are extended to provide support beneath the full footprint of these parts.

Fret Condition: Some warping of the veneer, with fragments now loose in case.

Damage Summary: Some fret warping,. The bellows and pans are an early replacement, each with no 1111.
