End Shape: Hexagonal End Sides: Six End Diameter: 156.5mm End-Profile: Flat, highly varnished End Material: Single-ply pale and grained rosewood ends, in the post-1848 machine-cut fretwork introduced by Louis Lachenal during his time as Manager at Wheatstone's Conduit St premises. End Bolts: Medium cheese-head pale nickel-brass bolts Fret Pattern: Fine machine-cut rosewood frets, with a white chamois leather sub-fret baffle. Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval to RH, scalloped shape to LH Strap Screw-insert type: Inset circular brass disc with one steel securing screw, one at each side. Finger-rest: Standard format curved-end brass finger-rests, with later leather cladding to all faces. Three securing screws. Fret Condition: Fine Damage Summary: Case top-strap absent. Later straps and thumbstrap covering. One replaced reed. |
