End Frets

Summary: The post-1848 machine-cut fretwork introduced by Louis Lachenal during his time as Manager at Wheatstone's Conduit St premisesis now the standard format. This model has very simple frets, in a single chamfered-edge rosewood sheet applied to the end-frame.

End Shape: Hexagonal

End Sides: Six

End Diameter: 157mm

End-Profile: Flat, with chamfered edges, and a highly-polished finish.

End Material: Single-ply rosewood end-sheet, in a very simple post-1848 machine-cut fretwork pattern.

End Bolts: Medium cheese-head brass bolts

Fret Pattern: Post-1848 machine-cut very simple fretwork pattern

Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval to RH, scalloped shape to LH

Strap Screw-insert type: Inset circular brass disc with one brass securing screw, one at each side.

Finger-rest: Standard format curved-end brass finger-rests, with full leather cladding. Three securing screws.

Fret Condition: Perfect.
