Reeds and Reed PansReed Pans Summary: Conventional radial pans with the central hole offset towards the smaller chambers in a now standard layout. Pan inset flush to bellows-frame, and with narrow dividers clad in conventional yellow chamois. The pans are flush to the bellows-frame and reed-pans. There has been a contemporary addition of a a further 20 woode/chamois-capped cross pieces to all the other chambers in each pan, possibly at Wheatstones Reed Pans Main Labels: Circular pan label with the wording "Wheatstone & Co, Patentees, 20 Conduit St., Regent St., London" and "Small Notes Right Hand Side, 48 Keys." Reed frame sizes now added in Arabic Numerals. The large annular pan-label bearing the Wheatstone & Co address has in this instrument been modified with the addition of an oval inked rubber stamp of Wheatstone's "London W" address, inked in red one an area of each pan label from which the underlying paaper has been scraped away. Reed Pans Stamps: L & R twice Reed Pans Serial Numbers: 5076 Once Reed Pans Gasketry: pale yellow chamois Reed Pans Right Hand Cross Pieces: RH: 4 Wooden cross-pieces, (superceding the previous use of cork cross-pieces), each chamois-capped, on top chambers. There has been a contemporary addition of a a further 20 simple cork cross pieces to all the other chambers in each pan, possibly at H Crabb & Son. Reed Pans Left Hand Cross Pieces: LH: 4 wooden cross-pieces, (superceding the previous use of cork cross-pieces), each chamois-capped, on top chambers. There has been a contemporary addition of a a further 20 simple cork cross pieces to all the other chambers in each pan, possibly at H Crabb & Son. Reeds Summary: 96 wedge profiled round-ended brass reed frames, 24 on each side of each reed pan. Round-end frames, with original Steel tongues, each secured by two flat-topped steel screws. Note names stamped on each reed-frame. Reed Frame Material: Brass Reed Tongue Material: Original Steel tongues.
