End Frets

Summary: Later style, less intricate (but still hand-cut) pattern of hexagonal flat single thickness Rosewood, with embouchures for maker's label and for a serial number (both absent). Some fret damage. The divided end arrangements of Fretwork-frame and action frame are of Rosewood veneer.

End Shape: Hexagonal

End Sides: Six

End Diameter: 157mm

End-Profile: Flat

End Material: Solid rosewood ends, veneered frames.

End Bolts: Shallow-height cheese-head brass bolts, securing the fretwork end to the action frame and bellows.

Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval to RH, shield-shaped to LH, RH damaged.

Strap Screw-insert type: Inset circular brass screw-fittings to side, each secured by a single steel screw

Finger-rest: Standard format curved-end brass finger-rests, no leather cladding. Three securing screws.

Fret Condition: Some damage to the fretwork with fragments glued to pieces of the sub-fret baffle..
