Reed Pans Stamps: L & R Reed Pans Serial Numbers: 1666 (Pans & Bellows 1667), stamped once in outer top chambers. Reed Pans Gasketry: Pale yellow Chamois Reed Pans Right Hand Cross Pieces: RH: 5 cork cross-pieces in small reed-chambers, with later additions of wooden cross pieces to all other chambers. Reed Pans Left Hand Cross Pieces: LH: 5 cork cross-pieces in small reed-chambers, with later additions of wooden cross pieces to all other chambers. Reeds Summary: Round-end brass beds, with brass tongues, (and many later steel additions) secured with two large, tall and domed brass screws, securing a brass cross-piece: None of the reeds' cross-pieces now have the early feature of Open-Sides to the screw areas, a feature that has been linked to early parts suppliers and manufacturers such as Nickolds.
