Reeds and Reed PansReed Pans Summary: Radial standard pan. In common with the reed-pans of the Collection's Joseph Scates instruments, (whose business was taken over by George Case in 1851) similar hand-written note-names have been added in pencil to the inner end of each reed area on the inner pan-face, possibly to aid the tuner in allocating reeds to the correct chambers. Reed Pans Stamps: L & R Reed Pans Serial Numbers: 44, twice, in top two small reed chambers of each pan.
