The brass inlays are of a complex and delicate pattern different to the patterns used on the pearl inlays more commonly used. No 2710 (end-frames and action), and No 2710 on pans and the bellows-frame. 48 ivory keys, bushed, and round-ended steel tongued reeds. Nickel finger-rests Double-sided reed pan, with a simple hexagonal sub-pan baffle screwed to the inner face of the pans. Gilt-embossed black deep-sided leather bellows and later black thumb-straps, case missing. Maker DetailsBoosey & Co. were active from about 1856 after taking over the business of George Case Boosey & Co.instruments are labelled as George Case of Boosey and ... where the name has variations including Boosey and Sons (by 1864), Boosey and Chin(g) and Boosey and Co. The earlier company address is Holles Street,London, and they moved to Regent St about 1874. |
