End FretsSummary: A hand-cut Chidley pattern of hexagonal flat single-ply, rosewood with chamfered edges, embouchures for maker's label and for a serial number (no serial number visible). The fretwork-frame and action frame are clad in rosewood veneer. End Shape: Hexagonal End Sides: Six End Diameter: 154.5mm End-Profile: Flat, with chamfered edges. End Material: Solid rosewood, chamfered edges. End Bolts: Shallow-height cheese-head brass bolts, securing the fretwork end to the action frame and bellows. Fret Pattern: Later Chidley pattern - oval label cartouche, scalloped LH number cartouche. Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval to RH, small oval to LH Strap Screw-insert type: Inset circular brass screw-fittings to side, each secured by a single steel screw Finger-rest: Standard format curved-end brass finger-rests, with most of the original leather cladding. Three small securing screws. Fret Condition: Damage to LH thumbstrap area. Damage Summary: RH Thumb strap damaged. |
