End Frets

Summary: A very simple pattern of hexagonal flat single-ply, rosewood fretwork, with embouchures for maker's label and for a serial number (both absent since baffles missing). The fretwork-frame and action frame are of rosewood veneer.

End Shape: Hexagonal

End Sides: Six

End Diameter: 157.5mm

End-Profile: Flat

End Material: rosewood

End Bolts: Replacement fully-threaded cheese-head brass bolts, securing the fretwork end to the action frame and bellows.

Fret Pattern: Later Chidley pattern - oval label cartouche with later trefoil insert, simple small oval LH number cartouche.

Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval label cartouche, with crude trefoil wooden insert. smaller oval LH number cartouche.

Strap Screw-insert type: Strap-screws inserting directly to wood of action-frame.

Finger-rest: Standard format curved-end brass finger-rests, with worn original green leather cladding. Three securing screws.

Fret Condition: Fine

Damage Summary: Case missing, sub-fret baffles absent.
