End FretsSummary: A hand-cut and intricate late Chidley pattern of hexagonal flat three-ply, rosewood with fancy scrolled pearl corner inlays, chamfered edges, embouchures for maker's label and for a serial number. The fretwork-frame and action frame are clad in rosewood veneer. End Shape: Hexagonal End Sides: Six End Diameter: 158.5mm End-Profile: Flat, with chamfered edges. End Material: Three-ply rosewood veneers, pearl inlays, chamfered edges. End Bolts: Medium-height cheese-head pale brass bolts, securing the fretwork end to the action frame and bellows. Fret Pattern: Later Chidley pattern - oval label cartouche, scalloped LH number cartouche. Label Embouchure Pattern: Oval to RH, small scalloped to LH. Strap Screw-insert type: Inset circular brass screw-fittings to side, each secured by a single steel screw Finger-rest: Later nickel rimmed format curved-end nickel finger-rests, unclad. Three securing screws. Fret Condition: Fine Damage Summary: Case top strap replaced, sub-fret baffles removed. |
