Main Case: Original hexagonal rosewood-veneered case, solid bevelled rosewood lid, re-lined with modern purple velvet to base, ivory lock cartouche , brass lock missing, replacement heavy brass "Coffin Handle" instead of top-strap. Mr. Thomas's name is also stamped into the large brass handle now fitted to the top of the case.
Main Case Shape: Hexagonal.
Main Case Measurement: 228 x 201mm tall.
Main Case Material: Original hexagonal rosewood-veneered case, solid bevelled rosewood lid, heavy brass "Coffin Handle" instead of top-strap.
Main Case Label - Other: Mr. Thomas's name is also stamped into the large brass handle now fitted to the top of the case.
Main Case Lock: Lock, removed, ivory key embouchure present, key absent.
Main Case Hinges: Two long brass hinges, 4 screws each.
Main Case Straps: H eavy brass "Coffin Handle" has replaced the original top-strap. Mr. Thomas's name is also stamped into the large brass handle now fitted to the top of the case.
